Cooper's Hawk ....

What a difference a day makes ....

Yesterday I was wearing short sleeves (but not shorts!) and no jacket ...

And today I was bundled up to the max! Yesterday's high was 69° F and today was only 41° F and very, very windy!

We still wanted to get out of the house for a while (before it really gets cold!) so we went over to the Burnside Plantation. We took a bucket with us so that we could collect some of the many black walnuts that litter the ground over there.   Our squirrels go absolutely NUTS for them ... even though we have our own black walnut trees in the back!

On the way home I saw this beautiful Cooper's Hawk on the fence of our local high school.   I believe it to be a juvenile.
