Carskey Bay in Grey

(with Ailsa Craig, Sheep island, and Sanda island)

8.9C wity plenty of cloud but not as grey as yesterday. Smir from about 4pm. Moderate W/WSW/N breeze.

Apothecary7's day off.

Since we hadn't been to Carskey Bay on Sunday we went the ten miles or so South to Southend then followed the road round past Dunaverty beach and Kiel to Carskey Bay where we had a wander with Maeve the Deerhound from one end of the beach to the other and back. The view over to the Antrim coast of Northern Ireland was very clear and we could pick out features on the coast and see hills/mountains inland.

No beachcasting fisherman today, and the sea was calm. Small waves breaking. Tide on the way in. Still lots of wood washed up on the beach. It felt cold in the breeze. Maeve had a very short paddle, or was she just caught out by a wave running up the beach ...

On the way to Southend we had checked the farm stand for Little Farm. Apothecary7 spotted that there were boxes of eggs. On the way back we stopped and bought a box. Money in the honesty jar.

Later Apothecary7 was painting.
