Oranges & Benneth

We couldn’t work in South Sudan without Benneth. I’ve never known such a lynchpin to a project, or for that matter someone who eats oranges so hungrily. Orange trees grow all over the community forest next to the game reserve that we try to help protect and it’s credit to the people who planted them years ago as they kept us sustained during long, hot walks through dense vegetation. It’s typical here to have one overly huge plate of food in the evening, a cup of tea with at least four sugars in the morning, and nothing else. So thanks for bountiful forests for staving off bouts of low energy and keeping us alert enough to look for signs of wildlife and other cool stuff. Hearing chimp calls was a very welcome highlight and a first for me in the wild.

You keep healthy with that Vitamin C intake Benneth as without you we’d be up rather a smelly creek without the proverbial paddle.
