It's going to be a long wait!

Tourism is big business here at this time of the year. We hear British voices wherever we go during the summer months. We believe we can tell the British a mile off ..(and we are no exception)! We went down to Verteillac this morning for a coffee at a different bar .. (rest day from cycling today) expecting Luc's bar to be closed but surprise surprise it was open. The reason I say 'surprise' is that everything (well almost everything) is closed on a Monday in France .. certainly in rural France. If you have forgotten to get anything then it is 'tough'!. Shops close, all except the boulangerie but certainly the boucherie (butchers shop) .. which is where these 'British' were waiting ... I hope they weren't planning a barbecue for today ... it might have to be a bread sandwich!

And if you are wondering what Traiteur means which you will often see alongside the Boucherie sign it signifies someone who is licensed to prepare food too. ... Usually each year the Boucherie hosts a street fête ... and we often joke (but it's true) that you won't see anything green on your plate from the first dish to the last.. For me being vegetarian that is quite a challenge but I can usually find a willing dog under the table!
