Don't Shoot the Dog!

When in doubt photographically shoot the dog.

We all love our four legged friends. This is Crazy Maisy my pug saying cheese, she's probably saying "give me some cheese," Pugs are always hungry! I'm sure they would eat me given half the chance. Maisy and her even crazier sidekick Daisy (also a pug) have already eaten their way through a dog bed (fabric), towels, couple of wooden toys, a pot scrubber, numerous plastic figures (army), dog bowl (plastic), cardboard box, remote for TV and a couple of keys off my laptop choosy are pugs they only ate the B and the V. I may blip the missing keys one day.

So this is Maisy panting smiling, because of their short muzzles pugs find it quite difficult to keep cool in the warm weather, thus causing them to pant most of the time in a bid to stay cool.

Heres the interesting doggy facts (about keeping cool).

Dogs mainly sweat through their foot pads.

Panting moves the cool air onto the wet surfaces of the dogs tongue and into the lungs, transferring the heat out into the atmosphere. Hence the reason your pooch has a large tongue!

Dogs have a group of small arteries at the base of the neck these thermally isolate the head (containing the brain obviously) where most of the heat is generated. Panting cools this area allowing your dog to sustain physical exertion on hot days for a prolonged amount of time.

Panting also cools the dogs respiratory system through evaporation.

So there you have it... Not just a pretty face!

Maisy moo "SIT!"... No, no, stop trying to eat my finger!
