Flat Calm

9.5C with a bright morning then cloudier in the afternoon. Zephyr.

After lunch Maeve and I went for the repeat of our usual morning walking route across the road and round to the park and the harbour and back along through town.

Once Maeve was back home and settled I got my car and drove along to the little car park by the milestone on the Kilkerran road which is marked with one mile to Campbeltown. Van Morrison (Avalon Sunset) then Runrig (Amazing Things) on the Clip. Two fishing boats and the lifeboat were coming in past Davaar island through the channel. From there I walked out Kilkerran road past the 68 mile marker on the Kintyre Way then the Goldsmith's house and studio to the NATO jetty at Glenramskill and the Doirlinn and along the road past Davaar House then round Kildalloig Bay until I reached the 70 mile marker out towards New Orleans. It was flat calm and the tied was fully in. I could see one or two fishing boats out beyond Arran. The Ayrshire coast was clear to see beyond Ailsa Craig.

On the way back two red and white fishing boats came in through the channel. The second seemed determined to catch and pass the first.

Afternoon music ... Gloria Estefan, Destiny.
