Monarchs Galore

They are roosting in a grove of Monterey cypresses, in Pacific Grove on the Monterey Bay in California (at  a monarch butterfly sanctuary). Sadly, their numbers have been diminishing steadily--down very significantly over the past two decades at least, probably due mainly to reduction of their habitat in their Mexican wintering grounds.  Don't miss the extra, showing the largest group (about half of the total).
