An Unexpected Visit

Woke to a message on the answerphone from the nursing home. Mom had been very ill in the night and they had called for an ambulance. She'd been under the weather since the change of home, which we'd put down to anxiety around the move.

So I headed for A&E rather than the office. The medical staff were brilliant and the doctor took the time to explain what they'd done. They thought it was a chest infection, later confirmed as pneumonia. I stayed with her for a while but when she fell asleep I left to return later. This evening she was in a ward, still very weak. We'll just have to see how things go.
