Simply Stunning

We learnt early on out here that what's happening outside the window isn't always a fair representation of what's on offer. We awoke today to wall to wall grey - but a quick look at the ski area webcams made it clear we needed to get up above 1500m to find a whole new world.

With the formal AGM of the British Association of International Mountain Leaders this evening ( of which I'm Chair) we knew it would be tough - but it was simply too good not to go. So a fast breakfast and we headed off to Plan Jeux and a lovely snowy loop of Barmus underneath the Dérochoir. The drive up was spectacular as we only emerged from the inversion at the last minute - and that whole glorious new world was suddenly revealed. Our walk was simply wonderful - this shot shows the views well, but I could have picked any of a dozen shots (see extra) . Lunch sat out in the sun at 1500m seemed a good reward for our endeavours.

The AGM had a lot of potential to be contentious - I seldom rehearse these things but I had this one - but in the end all our resolutions were near unanimously carried - I'm really proud to say we've got a mandate for this Board to continue, we've brought in a new non executive President, the membership fully supported the Code of Conduct I've worked hard on, we've accepted a revised complaints procedure and much more. Best of all (as a blipper) I won the Photo competition (with this) and a great prize!! All in all, a good evenings work.
