Diary of an Edinburgher

Archie says Hello

Camila came to take Archie for the day - he helps her study, so after a brisk frolic in the Meadows, he has quite a lazy day. No worries - he had a big day yesterday, and on Monday and Tuesday he is going for long walks. Here's another crazed welcome - he pauses in his frenetic routine, lays his beard on Camila's face, and attempts to smother her while posing for the camera. She doesn't seem to mind.

JR has been non-stop busy again today. In fact, she has been since she retired.  (And of course, before she retired!)  A Dundee cake was made to take to Uncle A for his 88th birthday.

Then she set to, sorting out clothes to get rid of. One great big old suitcase has been filled with stuff for the charity shop. She'd hold up an item (of mine) and I'd say 'Keep it. I might wear it again.' But she'd say, 'No you won't. It's too small/old lady's colour/ too short/ too hippy-ish/ it's got holes/ wrong neckline/ no pockets...' and into the big suitcase it would go. A very good spring clean, but it's only the beginning...

In the afternoon we popped round to see Uncle A and bring him his cake. We watched a slide show of his old Scarp photos (where our forebears are from), but I will go during the week to see the album of his photos from the recent trip.

Happy Birthday Uncle A!
