On ice

A lovely day in festive London. A quick trip round the market outside Tate Modern, followed by a look round Tate Modern itself. Lunch at an excellent Greek restaurant by the Thames. Then a walk across the river to the ice rink at the Tower of London.

Weather was dull, and quite damp towards the end, but a good day and not the crowds we expected, but then we avoided all shops!

This is the eldest granddaughter showing off her skating skills – she is very good and full of confidence (not the best picture, but the one she liked). Looking on is the second granddaughter, with her Aunt (better seen in the first extra – she is a confident skater too). The other extra is the youngest at lunch, having turned down lots of different foods on offer on the table, in favour of Greek salad  - (Koala is one of those ‘travelling’ toys from school who is supposed to have ‘adventures’ – Mum just remembered in time and a photo was taken.)

It’s hard work having fun. Children went home very tired and we are at our hotel - exhausted!
