Salvage from the Wreckage

Allo Darlin' Heart You

Off to that London to meet up with the boy. We had time so went to the Museum of London and then to the Tate Modern (via his office opposite St Paul's). At the TM, we went up to the viewing level - nice city lights views!. Italian food then to Hackney. We had a bit of time to kill so, rather than going straight to the venue for the evening's entertainment, where we would just buy overpriced beer, we went to a pub and bought overpriced beer. Nice pale ale though. Then to the Moth Club to see Allo Darlin's penultimate gig - they arranged a farewell gig for tomorrow but that sold out immediately so they added two gigs for today!

It was excellent! Very cramped and hot and sweaty but such a lovely atmosphere. I've seen some good shows this year - Agnes Obel and the Wave Pictures within the last few weeks but this gig and the two Bearsuit gigs were among the best I have ever seen.

The Hayman Kupa Band were a good support and Darren H joined AD for a cover of his Wu Tang Clan song.

Afterwards, M travelled with me on the overground train for a few stops before we went our separate ways. Was he making sure that old man went the right way and didn't get lost?

Anyway, I enjoyed the time with him and was grateful for him for standing in when C refused to attend another standing-up gig. She's short enough that she doesn't get to see much at these...

Caught a late train after the usual mass rush at Euston once the platform is finally announced.
