Surfing in the Gloaming

A late coffee in Aboyne this morning followed by a short walk. At the bridge over the Dee we saw a lot of children with a few adults to chaperone them passing over the fast moving water just upstream of the bridge. Having passed under the bridge they all came to the shore in from of the Boat Inn, maybe they had a van to collect them.

This was about 14:00, so the sun was not quite setting, though it was low and behind some clouds. Enough to make the foreground quite dark, and darker than it was in reality.

The river is quite shallow as it approaches the bridge, so seems to be moving quite fast. I don't think we could call this "white water" but it may be a good practise site for the real thing.
