A Day Worth Recording

We had a fascinating day at Croome Court being guided around the house including a number of areas that aren't open to the public yet, including some where we needed hard hats!  This was one of a number of tours laid on for local tourism businesses for networking and mutual benefit.

I didn't take many pictures as the light was generally rubbish.  This is the top floor corridor showing the light well passing light down to the middle floor.   The tilt is not some weird perspective - it really is like that.

The house is fascinating - the 'obvious' 19thC house, the first by Capability Brown (yes, he did houses, and also the landscaping here), is built around the earlier 17thC house, which is essentially still there in its entirety - even down to the original chimneys poking out through the 18C roof and clearly visible from outside.
