Ice Crystals for TT81

The temperatures are way below freezing, around -7°C and dropping. The air feels very dry but nevertheless there is always a little water vapour in the air. The temperature falls further and suddenly this colder air cannot hold so much water. The water vapour turns directly to ice, no need for a liquid phase. First it freezes onto small irregularities in... anything! Then it finds one of the first ice-crystals and the molecules happily add themselves to the ready formed matrix, and the crystals grow.
A blade of dead grass becomes a crystal lightshow and the whole field glistens in the sun.
