Best Buds

Meet Bernadette and Jono a Black Swan and Whooper Swan pair that have been best buddies since they were chicks. Jono hatched in an incubator and needed a buddy, so one day old Bernadette paired up with him and they've been pals ever since. Cute baby photos and more info here.

The dynamic duo look serene and beautiful on the rippling water of one of the lakes at the Castle yet just out of shot it was a feeding frenzy with swans, geese and ducks tucking into their supper this afternoon. Seven Whooper Swans are now residing on the lakes at the Castle and hopefully in a couple of years they'll be breeding too.

It was a welcome break to watch the birds and take a breather from the office for a few minutes this afternoon. What happened to slow down for Christmas? More filming tomorrow...
