Fountain

We spotted this water fountain in Clifton, Bristol while we were walking around this afternoon.  We are making a brief visit, just stopping for one night.

When we arrived at the hotel, I was glancing through the "What's On" brochure and spotted that there was a photographic exhibition at the Pithay gallery.  It was of images by Barry Cawston taken at Banksy's temporary "Bemusement" park, "Dismaland", together with photographs inspired by Banksy's creation taken around Weston Super Mare.  The photographs of Banksy's creations and their political messages were pitched against candid street photography around Weston reminiscent of Martin Parr or Simon Roberts, but in Cawston's own style.

Barry Cawston was there himself at his exhibition, so we had the opportunity to talk to him and discuss the inspiration behind the photography and to talk about individual images.  It made for a very enjoyable visit - and I bought a copy of the book of the exhibition: "Are We There Yet?", before we left.
