Tractor Tuesday - Chelsea Tractor

Or should it be by Sloane Square Tractor? Not up to date on normal matters since Brexit. Think it's time to ditch Tractor Tuesday for Trump Tuesday.

According to my son, the name for most SUV's at least in London and the south east UK. Here in rural Bavaria such machines are a vital part of life. I have about 90 metres (can also take that to read yards if you aren't a pedantic Brexiteer) to schlep the dustbin from the back of the house to the road and that every 14 days. Well having said that I forgot two weeks ago and so it was extra heavy.but luckily still within the towbar limits of operation. Set on Low Drive we managed it and risked the arm of the law spotting the missing trailer lights.

Our massive dustbin is actually de-homogolated to reduce it to 80 litres content (sorry about 160 "imperial" pints) and even then it wasn't full after 4 weeks. Eddie's used cat litter though made the wheels sit wonderfully on the road and the trailer showed no sign of breaking out on either of the two 90° turns, as I careered down to the gate with gthe dogs for the evening walk.

Tax done just minutes before and no other photo opportunity today. Also good (or bad depending on your standpoint) news on the geese. We still officially have "lock up" orders for all birds. In a call last night with daughter Kate in Ireland, she thought she had seen somewhere that the UK has now been hit but that geese possibly are exempted.

While the plan for next week doesn't fill me with joy, it is a lot better than the thought of having to lock up keeping the geese locked up in criminally, unjustifiably, inappropriate conditions that would get you arrested in normal times for serious cruelty to animals. I might be able to accept it if any small natural flocks of hobby poultry had ever been connected with the flu and that it was dangerous to humans. But I would also insist that all humans in Europe get locked up in a downstairs toilet the moment an Asian human flu bug was discovered in Europe and an octogenarian chronically sick person had died as a result.

About as mad as the tax laws and as annoying as the car tax laws for 15 year old heavy SUV diesels. I can't even drive in Munich nowadays with it, despite being told when it was new that I was about to drive the cleanest motor around.

Will have to stick to rural tractor paths.
