TinyTuesday81 A festive day

Today I went into London with daughter #2 and Violet, where we had arranged for Violet to meet Santa Claus at Hamley's toy store.  As one might expect from a 2 year old, her reaction was a mixture of like and fright!  The room that the store uses for the 45 minute event (during which they meet Father Christmas) was rather small and hot for such a number of young children and expecting them to remain seated at tables to ice biscuits and draw while they waited,  was  unrealistic.  Never mind, Violet's overall impression was a positive one  and she enjoyed looking at the toys afterwards.
After leaving the store in Regent Street, we walked to the Langham Hotel where we enjoyed a wonderful festive high tea, joined by 2 of Daughter #2's friends.  Violet had a 20 minute nap, after which she had a great time: she danced to the piano music, much to the apparent delight of other guests and waiters.  Our tea was lovely and I've featured some of the cake items in my blip as they seemed appropriate for TT.
Unfortunately going up to London on the tube means making the return journey, which we did around 6.30pm.  By walking to Bond street rather than Oxford Circus we did manage to actually get on the first  train  (not always possible at that time of night) and my daughter actually got a seat -  miraculous!  Both going and coming, some very kind young men assisted us with the buggy where there were steps rather than escalators.  I'm delighted that such chivalry is not dead and it's certainly needed as the London Underground is not user  friendly  to anyone other than the fit and able bodied!
