Third time lucky.

My photographic friends would not be impressed but at least this is identifiable as a Waxwing.
Hand held at a couple of hundred feet it will have to do.

A friend whose house is just by this tree tells me there were 43 of them roosting in it this morning.

During the day they go off in groups to clear berries of garden trees. They have rich pickings this year. In case anyone does not know large flocks come over at this time of year from Scandinavia.
