Jedburgh Abbey

The final stop on the Scottish leg of our tour was to Jedburgh Abbey. Travelling from Broadmeadow, we arrived with the sun peaking through the clouds. It came and went all through our visit. Christine captured the shadows perfectly. For me, it was another day of more misses than hits though and so another detail shot was the order of the day.

Heading south of the border, I was holding out for a shot upon arrival in Bardon Mill and the Vindolanda Roman site. Unfortunately the Gods didn't continue to shine in England. The day had dulled right down by the time we arrived and by the time we actually got to the site it began to rain. Not too heavy to begin with but we decided that a visit to the museum would be the more prudent option and hope that the weather improved tomorrow.

We arrived at the youth hostel just in time to get soaked unloading the car as the heavens finally opened. A few hours later though and all the dampness was forgotten as we each tucked into our very own rack of ribs. Mmmm...
