Pixie Cups...

Is probably easiest - I'd normally identify this as Cladonia pyxidata - easy to remember but the truth of this complex fungi family is that without time-lapse, a microscope and ph testing it could just as easily be C.pocillum or C. Chlorophaea - but as Pixie Cups they currently abound on the dry stone walls of Orton, I've never seen such a display.

More time spent holding Little Old Lady's hand today and hoping that we are easing her passing, I always thought I'd rage against the fading, but now I can see the peace in gently drifting away as your light goes dim. She's been a fierce little Scot in her day, but now she's the picture of a gentle soul ready to go. It's a humbling experience to share.
