Playa de Carabassi

We've been reading news about floods and whirlwind taken an elderly man to sea (he was ignoring the warnings - he died), wind gusts knocking over terrace roofs, but it's been fairly quiet here in Gran Alacant. Yes, we've had some rain (10mm according to my own water meter in the front yard) and the wind is strong, but nothing more. We've been very lucky. It's been hours long thunder storms north and south from here. 20 minutes south or north there's lot of flooded areas. The woman who helped us do our Spanish wills, told that it often seems that there's a big umbrella over Gran Alacant, and that seems to be the case today too.

It hasn't rained for hours. We got the dogs for a dry afternoon walk (as well as morning walk - it rained when we were putting our clothes on and it rained shortly after our morning walk) and it's still not raining at all. So we drove to the sea and I took some pictures of the waves. We did not go close. We stayed over the dunes. Just in case. There were people working on their sea side bar and a dog walker. The dog walker stayed on the boardwalk but the dogs run the beach in utter joy.

When we went to the beach, the wind blew so hard on the chest that it felt like you can't breath. Then you get used to it. I had to hold on to my beanie, the wind tried to blow it away too. But here's some grey toned beach pics.
