Logan Botanic Garden

I wasn't interviewing till the afternoon so I took the opportunity to go to a real oasis, Logan Botanic Garden, south of Stranraer in the Rhins of Galloway peninsula (the end of the peninsula is the most southerly point of Scotland) near the village of Drummore. It is one of the four gardens that make up the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, and because of the Gulf Stream it means that they are able to have Mediterranean-type planting that just wouldn't handle the colder temperatures in the east of Scotland. I was really really lucky with the weather (the afternoon got worse weather-wise), which showed off the Garden to fantastic effect. What a lovely place to spend a couple of hours.
