Walking Across the Bay

Yesterday we travelled up to Umeå, 3 hours drive north. We picked up the fifth member of our G&T group in Umeå and then continued to Claire's, a short way outside the city. Claire is the owner of Rusty, also seen in the blip, the dog we looked after while she was away.
Claire cooked a delicious meal. We started with a little gin and moved on to  Salmon Wellington, a glass or two of wine, and a lovely and unusual pudding.
Today, after a delicious breakfast we went out for a walk along the shore.  In places, like this bay protected from the wind, the water is relatively shallow and the ice really firm.   In other places we made sure to stay on the shore. The extra shows some ice that had been pushed up against a rock and frozen like that. I liked the way the light shone through the ice.
When we got back we ate mince pies and saffron buns before setting off for home.
Thanks Claire for a really good weekend.
