Life in the Fast Lane

Life seems to be moving fast just now. Yesterday I was blipping from the ice on Herring Bay, near Umeå. Then it was home for a slightly short night of sleep before heading off on our travels again, and today's blip from Heathrow, terminal 2. Usually Heathrow seems to be evidence there really  is a devil and he works in design. (After Neil Gaiman/Terry Pratchett's comments on the M25 in "Good Omens".) However, today it was quiet and unstressed in the airport, though the same can't be said for the roads as we drove away (that M25 again).
We drove up to Solihull to meet up with old friends and their family. When we first met there was just P, now there is P and K and their kids are both on the verge of leaving home! It is slightly strange to look back to events 37 years ago and wonder how those relatively youthful people would have reacted if they had known we would still be enjoying contact with one another as retired people. They'd certainly have been happy to know that we would all still be relatively healthy and still enjoying adventures as life goes on!
