After yesterday's unusual Christmas tree this is another that we saw at a Christmas Tree festival. It is certainly not the most attractive of the 40 marvellous trees in a village church but I liked it for its simplicity and for being unusual. (I have cropped it to ensure I am not advertising the donor) We were there for the christening of the little baby for whom Thursday's oak tree was destined and after a delicious lunch at his grandparents ' house we were shown where they might plant the tree in their huge grounds.

Then it was a drive of about 70 miles to another church to surprise 3 year old O who had the major speaking part in his nursery school nativity play. As generally happens with young children in shows it was really funny with the actions and comments made by the children.

Our third church of the day was at the village Carol Service where the 9 year old twins were singing with other pupils of their school. Santa made a surprise visit at the end and for the second time today we had mulled wine and mince pies.

It has been a good festive day and more importantly it was good meeting up with some family members whom we rarely see as we live over 400 miles apart.
