Hardwick Hall was looking really wonderful decorated for Christmas with the most marvellous displays of Christmas trees and fresh flower arrangements adorning the rooms and even the kitchen and toilets were decorated. It was great fun trying to find displays representing The Twelve Days of Christmas too. I had so many potential blips but thought this Christmas tree made of sweets and cookies was unusual. Apparently it was made by one very talented lady but unfortunately the star had fallen off. The extra is of a liquid amber tree and the new Hall that the extremely wealthy Bess of Hardwick had built adjacent to the old Hall which must have been almost as magnificent in the late 16th century but is now in ruins.
