Cathedral Cove

Today is our final day on the Coromandel peninsula before we move inland to Hamilton for Christmas.

We went on a 2 hour 'eco adventure' exploring the marine reserve and volcanic coastline above and below the surface - the boat having a glass bottom.  The crew had a really good knowledge of the area and provided a rich commentary.  One brave guy went snorkelling but it was a bit fresh for me.

We had parked by the harbour and there weren't any obvious signs telling us how long we could park for.  When I asked Mark the captain he said that recently one guy had parked there for  6 weeks, gone sailing, and hadn't got a ticket.  He figured we would be OK for a couple of hours.

From there we went to 'Salt' for a fish and chip lunch which was delicious.  I liked the Father Christmas in extras.
