Another historical moment for FlyingPRGal to celebrate splashdown of Apollo 17 mission on December 19, 1972 and the end of the Apollo lunar-landing program.

“We came in peace for all mankind.”

I mentioned to CC again in the car this morning on the way to school that we are nearing the shortest day of the year...   Add a bit of Northern Italian winter fog... and it is still quite dark at 7.30 in the morning these days.

I treated myself this morning to a short walk about in one of my favorite churches in Milan, Santa Maria della Passione.  In the summer months light is streaming in from all angles at this hour in the morning.  In the winter, only the center nave lights are on and just a bit of blue light arrives from the various windows.  Perfect for exploring the various niches and side chapels.
