Christmas is getting closer.

This year we have been well ahead with our Christmas preparations.
The cards are all posted, presents bought and wrapped and apart from the food and drinks for Christmas Day, we are now able to chill a little.
I went to the library this evening and was pleased to see it was still open although the librarian expects it will close down in the early New Year, in spite of strong campaigning and much petitioning by Rishton people to keep our library up and running.
In a small community like ours, it has been a hub of activity, interest groups such as knit and natter, a life line for a wide cross section of local residents.
I am starting a novel called The Chocolate Lovers' Christmas, by Carole Matthews, something light hearted for these dark evenings, before I tackle something more serious, like the Lost Gospel.
