The Ninth Day Of Christmas

On the ninth day of Christmas whilst at the shops I saw , nine Pomegranates ,eight sausage sizzling , seven Berlin buses, six new laid Goose eggs , fiiiiiive British foxes, four chirpy sparrows, three German reindeer, two Golden baubles and a wonderful silvery tree...

Able to photograph and bought some . Did think about preparing one for an extra but decided against .
The Pomegranate is an amazing fruit and  has links to the Greek mythological story of Persephone .It explains why we have four seasons and how minus Persephone and the seeds from this fruit we would have lost the other three seasons. Always something to be thankful for. As today is the Winter Solstice time to celebrate that daylight will slowly lengthen and we can look forward to Spring .There is a link to the story of Persephone should anyone be interested .
