Christmas turkey fun

This was the scene in my parents' kitchen today just before lunch. My brother-in-law, sister, niece, and Mr hazelh are delighted that the turkey is beautifully cooked and ready to eat (not least because this time last year a misunderstanding with the Aga meant that the bird was more than a little overdone. Fortunately we did not withness this ourselves.)

We have all had a lovely day. We woke earlier than everyone else so I made breakfast in bed (tea and toast) for me and Mr hazelh. Champagne, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with presents at midday served as our lunch. Christmas dinner followed. Thereafter there was much lounging about (some members of the family in bed, some on sofas) until bedtime proper.
