Grilled salmon at Christmas Market

An unexpected repeat of yesterday's walk along the Union Canal onto Edinburgh. We were planning to walk along and around the banks of the River Almond at Cramond today but had an invitation to meet with Susan's niece, Cathy and her husband Stephen and their two young children at the Angels Share in Edinburgh.

And a very pleasant lunch it was. The children were delightful, one is nearly two and a half and the other is only 4 months but caused not a stir in the restaurant.

From there we collected the tickets for the Torch Light procession on 30th December and continued walking around the Old Town into Grassmarket, up the steps to the Castle, down into the Christmas Market finally ending up at John Lewis for a restorative cup of tea and a shared scone.

Refreshed we caught the 44 back to where we parked the car beating the bus back to Balerno.
