An ordinary life....

Though the Square Window...

One of the joys of the past week has been the builders are on holiday.  It has been utter bliss getting up to the sound of silence.  When they return next week we will be on the six week countdown to it all being completed.

The kitchen is finished apart for a couple of small snagging issues.  The boot room is almost finished, just to complete the seating & coat hanging bit, the garden room has 3/4 of the floor tiles down and has to have the skirting finished and the last coat of paint and the pool has the last of the floor and wall tiles to be laid, painted then pool filled.

So excited to be almost there!!!

And even better than all of that is Alan continues to recover in leaps and bounds.  He is in such good form.  Sense of humour has returned along with his enthusiasm for life in general.  I honestly can't remember the last time we saw him so happy, content and settled.  It's obvious now that the colitis was horrendous for him whether he was in flare up or not.

His friend Andrew came to visit this afternoon and Alan was delighted to see him.  Much hatching of plans and lots of laughter involving the whoopee cushion.  They also went out down the town with David and Karen and both Alan and David came back with haircuts.  And David had had his beard trimmed.  First time he's had to think about a hair style in 20 years!  :-)))
