Blue Tit

Beautiful weather again with not a breath of wind. We walked to the Dolmen and back, with me lagging behind on the home stretch. I stopped to watch this Blue Tit and a Great Tit in the late afternoon sunshine. I'm very pleased I managed to get this shot as it was constantly moving and nibbling on the lichen. Earlier in the day I heard the male Great Tits calling for mates making me quite sad because it's far too early to be nesting. Hopefully the females haven't got the same 'bird brains' and manage to resist the males' advances.

I've updated my book blog earlier in the week with my top ten reads for the year. Today I added a review for a Gothic mystery set in present Iowa that I thoroughly enjoyed, Arrowood by Laura McHugh.
