Hills AND trees

A good trip up the M1 in spite of the fog but we had to leave the A50 due to accident and had a very difficult journey around the outskirts of Derby with hardly any visibility.

We arrived at Milldale about twenty minutes behind schedule to find our friends had not long arrived, so that was ok. We left one car there and headed back to Ilam Hall to park car two.

Setting off it was very misty but as we ascended, the clouds broke and it turned into a wonderful afternoon and I was in seventh heaven with hills and trees galore to photograph. It took us about three hours to walk back to car one, skirting round Thorpe Cloud and heading up Dove dale.

Now ensconced in our hotel in Hartington and resting before dinner and a hand or two of cards.
