Whitby Pier

We went to Whitby for a few hours today. It was a great drive over the North York Moors from where we're staying.

We'd visited Whitby a few times before but I'd never had the chance to go to the Frank Meadow Sutcliffe gallery. He was a photographer who documented life in the town in the late Victorian era and early 20th century. The photos are fascinating. And what was even more amazing was seeing the camera he used. We complain about carrying a lot of photography gear around when we're out and about. His camera alone was huge in comparison.

So here's my homage to a truly great photographer.

Happy New Year to you all.
