New years day sunset

This will probably be the first of many sunsets that you'll see me blip during 2017.
It took us a while but we did find the sun eventually. We headed for Cromarty just before lunch , the BBC forecast had promised sun, there had been a bad accident in Avoch in the early morning and the road was closed so we also wanted to avoid the area. ( Hoping that the injured pedestrian makes a full recovery ! ) so off to Cromarty we went. It was dry and cold but no sun. The tide was high and we watched gulls riding in the waves. Down to Udale bay where the sheep were closer to the gate today. We could see light on the otherside of the Firth so after picking up some lunch and other essentials from Tesco ( something I thought we would nt do on New Years Day ) we went to Loch Kinellan. It was brighter so we took our lunch down the the Loch and shivered eating our sandwiches, pasta and crisps. After warming up in the car we went for a walk. Lots of ducks around including golden eye and tufted duck and two swans on the bank. We also saw a HUGE  brown dog as big as a bear out for a walk with his owners. He was gorgeous :)
Home and we've had steak for dinner and will watch a film later.
