Crepe Myrtle Bonsai

I have decided to challenge myself this year with a bonsai photo project.  Bonsai are incredibly difficult to photograph so that one doesn't loose the fine details as well as the overall aesthetic feel.  The Crepe Myrtle pictured above is my plant of choice.  It is 3 years old this January.  I started growing it quite some time ago, but because of my health issues with my knee, the plant has been at the nursery for the last 2 years, and has grown back to pre bonsai , as I wasn't able to have it home for that time.  I couldn't take care it, so the bonsai nursery kept it while I went through 2 surgeries and 2 rehabs.
But now I am nearly fully recovered and the bonsai is home.  To celebrate this new found mobility and freedom, I wanted to choose  the myrtle and photograph it every 2 weeks for a year.  I am starting with a scraggly, nearly leafless tree in a training pot.  In the late winter, early spring, this scraggly, sticky looking thing will be restyled and wired.  It is a wonderful journey and I hope you enjoy it with me as I attempt to find the tree within, once again.
