Glacial Wilderness

Please view LARGE

The weather is not so good today and the Fee glacier and its moraine look like something from another planet under the moody sky. There is a kind of beauty in the glacier itself but a kind of brutality which becomes more obvious with the melt waters and moraine. The Glaciers are receding here at about 45 meters per year. Its noticeable when you haven't been here for a few years and confirmed by our 15 year old map which shows the glaciers about half a kilometre longer than the current map. Scary stuff.
