Houblon

Brew Day

Taking advantage of working from home I had some home brew ingredients delivered on Friday.

Here we are in the middle of the boil. You can see the houblon top left has some fantastic flowers which will need harvesting in the next few weeks. On the table on the left in the white bucket is the next charge of hops waiting to be added . The copper coil is for chilling the wort once the boil has finished. In the centre you can see the boiler, below that the blue picnic cooler is the empty mash run. On the right is the 25kg bag of malt (enough for 5 or 6 brews). It's from Warminster malting a who still use the traditional floor malting method.

Being brewed today a light coloured hoppy bitter with cascade and Amarillo hops. OG 1048. As yet unnamed.
