Counting blessings

I know, this photo is not a work of art, but today I'm feeling grateful for my life. A quiet day, made cake for choir practice, made bread, finished my book. S was able to drive himself to Narbonne to get finally signed off by the surgeon, and after smoked salmon and glasses of sauvignon by the fire,  he made a delicious cauliflower and chickpea curry for dinner. It doesn't take much to please me :)

Today I am officially retired. Hurrah! Except the French state still hasn't told me how much my pension is going to be, or when they might consider paying it :(

PS the bowl is one of the "faulty" pots I bought from the poterie Not. I still love them.
