Boggles, hobs and such

And talented Blippers

We have been going to the Keswick Museum monthly lunchtime talks for a while and we knew we were going to make a special effort to attend the one scheduled for today. This was given by Ros Earthy (biblinros) – yes our very own Blipper.

It was excellent. She talked about the range, history and derivation of Cumbrian folk tales and pondered on the relative dearth of such tales, authentic ones anyway. Fascinating stuff and she certainly interested the audience. But when she actually told some stories the audience was mesmerised. Superb storyteller – she made us wonder, gasp and laugh. There are some talented Blippers, and Ros is certainly one of them.

I wanted to take a picture of the storyteller in action, but it was impossible. So this is my portrait, taken very quickly at the end. I like it, hope she does too.
