The aftermath

Cities at this time of year can be pretty depressing places. The remnants of Christmas look quite melancholy. Shops are full of seasonal stuff that they are trying to get rid of. Sales seem to dominate, so trying to buy anything ‘ordinary’ is just about impossible. The damp, cold mist that came down during the morning in Carlisle didn’t help. We didn’t stay long.

And what did I actually buy? A rather nice, half price calendar with pictures by Hokusai. It will remind me of the exhibition we went to last year and the beautifully detailed pictures will provide me with something to ponder on as I wait for my printer to print – it’s very slow.

And lots more boxes of course!!
