A Perfect Evening

You have to imagine the dying afternoon in the Norfolk Broads, despite fingers numb with cold on what was a clear, sunny day, we waited for the sun to sink behind the reed beds, all is very still and quiet.  The silence is broken by the sound of hundreds of pink foot geese returning from their feeding grounds to roost safely on the water.  Looking up skeins of geese flying in formation are silhouetted against the dying light. The mist is descending over the marshes and the grass beneath our feet is crisping up with frost and beginning to crunch slightly as we walk back to the warmth of the car. Also see extras
This was the U3A Photo Group outing to the beautiful How Hill Nature Reserve this afternoon.  Another beautiful place discovered today...this reminds me why I moved to Norfolk...just stunning!
