Still no real answer

Well, today was the long-awaited visit to the vertigo specialist at UW, and the result was less than enlightening.  They did do a hearing test, and I learned that I could probably benefit from a hearing aid, something which I have no desire to get.  As far as the condition itself, aside from the testing bringing on a revolting bout of room-spinning, the doctor felt that the most likely cause was still benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) because that's the most common cause.  Rather than do more complex balance testing at this point, he's recommending that I go back to the vestibular specialist I've worked with before for the BPPV treatment.  I can go back for more extensive balance testing if I choose, should the vertigo persist.  So I feel as if I'm back to square one as far as understanding what's going on.  Fortunately the problem has improved to the point when I only experience it at night, getting into and out of bed, so I can live with it, but I'm feeling really frustrated.

Otherwise it was a beautiful day, bright sun but really cold, and I felt energized enough to catch up with all my responding to all my comments and stars and being able to comment on all of today's and the past days' blips.  You folks have been putting just wonderful photos up every day, and it's a shame I have so few heart to give since I'm playing catch-up.
