Blackcollared Barbet

This is one of my favourite garden birds - I love the bright colours and they have a pretty call. Barbets are relatives of the woodpeckers. They feed on fruit and insects and make nest-holes in trees.
I get so my pleasure watching the birds from my study and then jumping up to where my camera is set up when I see one I want to photograph!!
