From a distance

A beautiful day from start to finish. We had some jobs to do in Inverness first and afterwards we went to Merkinch Nature reserve for a walk. The tide was out but lots of waders around including oyster catchers and the odd curlew. In the first pond area we saw hooded crows, a black headed gull and a moorhen that hurriedly hid among the reeds. We spotted deer slots in the mud.
Over the railway to the next pond and straight away we spotted the Kingfisher ,a flash of blue flashed across the water. Can you see him in the photo ? I choose this photo so you can see how bright he was.We watched him fish and flew around the other side of the water but he did nt come any closer. I know it's a male as he was nt wearing lipstick, the female has a orange on the lower part of the beak.
We walked along to the canal. Beautiful views along the Firth :)
A super sunset t end the day.
