A hatchling

I am so pleased I nipped up the road to put out our friends' bin when I did because it's tipping it down now.

The caterpillar I fed almost up to Christmas, before it turned into a chrysalis, has hatched.  I now know that it's an Angle Shades moth, another first, and as they are about all year round I've released it.  It was a feisty little beast to get hold of.
